Remember to wear School Uniforms everyday!

Tulakes has now been a UNIFORM school for five years.  Becoming such has made a huge difference in the overall climate of our school.  We ask that your child wear the prescribed uniform daily which consists of the following:

Girls are to wear KHAKI, NAVY or BLACK pants, shorts or skirts with a Brown or Black belt or a jumper.  Length of skirts and jumpers are not to be shorter than three inches above the knee.  Tops are NAVY, RED, WHITE, YELLOW, ROYAL BLUE or BLACK – Polo style (w/collar) in solid colors (no prints).

Boys are to wear KHAKI, NAVY or BLACK pants or shorts with a Brown or Black belt.  Pants must fit properly – no sagging.  Tops are NAVY, RED, WHITE, YELLOW, ROYAL BLUE or BLACK – Polo style (w/collar) in solid colors (no prints).

These items can be purchased at a local Wal-mart, Target, and Academy stores.  We also maintain a small stock here at school.  Please see the secretary for purchase or if assistance is needed.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support in our effort to create/maintain a safe and positive environment in our school, and, please call if you have any questions.

My Favorite Elementary Teacher
"My 5th-grade teacher at Tulakes Elementary, Ms. Meek, was so cool. She made me work hard and she showed me how hard work can pay off. For that and for how fun her class was, I will always love her."
-Keishawn, Putnam City High School

SchoolCenter Picture "The teacher I remember the most at Tulakes Elementary is Mr. Payne. He was so kind, and I could go to him for anything. Most of all, he was my first basketball coach. Thanks, Mr. Payne, for everything!"
-Katoya, Putnam City High School

"We continually assess children to know if they are learning. We use frequent common assessments in our classrooms, district benchmark testing and state tests. These are great tools for indicating student mastery of material. However, my favorite indication that a student is learning is that light in their eyes and the excited facial expression that says 'I've got it!'"
-JoAnn Rogers, 4th-grade teacher

"I'm in my tenth year of teaching the same grade at the same school, and I wake up every day excited to go to work. My students are special, almost a part of my family. My fellow teachers are more than colleagues; they're lifelong friends and people who share a passion for working with young children and helping them succeed. I know our school administrators support us, and the district makes sure we are prepared and equipped for the job we do. It's the best situation a teacher could have."
- Brett Payne, 4th-grade teacher
